Eddie's home by himself most nights, considering his uncle's work schedule. It doesn't bother him, gives him plenty of time to himself. Time to work on his music and his campaigns uninterrupted. He hits the end of his practice session and heads outside for a smoke break, apparently completely oblivious to the time of day. Time hasn't mattered in a while, the weird hours he keeps. He lights a cigarette and heads out into the sad excuse for a lawn, where he sees the other.
"Hey, Hargrove," he greets with a nod, striding over. "Enjoying the shitty night air of the trailer park?"
"Munson. Absolutely. The only thing I love more than the smell of shit is the smell of this shithole." The chains of the swing creak as he moves, legs kicked out in front of him as he takes a final drag of his smoke and tosses it away, really starting to swing.
"You're lucky you have good taste in music, freak, or we'd have problems with you playing this late into the night." There's no heat to his words and his lips are turned upwards into a hint of smile. "Which album were you working your way through tonight, huh?"
"Oh, I'd tell you to fuck off if you tried to complain anyway," he answered with a grin as he crossed to take the other swing, dragging his feet against the ground as he swings back and forth, puffing on his cigarette.
"Reign in Blood. I think you're the only one around here who doesn't bitch about the music."
"No wonder you're the favourite park resident." He wasn't because this town was full of judgemental assholes but Billy also wasn't on the list of most loved, so whatever. He didn't give a shit what these people thought of him anyway.
"That's because I know good music when I hear it. Should I expect to hear your rehearsing it buy the end of the week?"
The quip earns a laugh, loud and boisterous because he knows how untrue that is, but he'll take the compliment of sorts. At least he's got somebody in the town who likes him okay besides the kids and his uncle.
"Takes one to know one, right? But yeah, think so. I think I've almost got it to where I can start?"
Billy wouldn't necessarily say he and Eddie were friends but they got along and had more in common than just Eddie selling Billy weed occasionally. And he's definitely a step up from Tommy Hagan; the annoying little shit had finally fucked off to college and Billy was grateful to be rid of him.
